Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker posted a mysterious tweet on Friday suggesting that Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro would be Vice President Kamala Harris running mate in the upcoming 2024 presidential race.

The social media post was published on the X platform at 2:15 p.m.

“Proud to be back with so many leaders across our region supporting @Kamala Harris for President and @JoshShapiro for VP!,” the 51-year old Philadelphia mayoral hopeful wrote on her X account.

“We are ONE city, ONE region, and ONE commonwealth united!”

Parker served for 10 years as a Pennsylvania state representative representing Northwest Philadelphia from 2005–2015.

“On winning her election, she made history as the youngest African-American woman elected to the State Legislature,” her campaign website reads.

“In Harrisburg, she was elected by her colleagues to chair the Philadelphia Delegation, and it was in this role that she earned her reputation as one of the most effective legislators in Harrisburg.

Parker was elected to Philadelphia’s city council in 2016 representing Northwest Philadelphia and the lower Northeast until 2022. She was elected to the mayoral position in the City of Brotherly Love in 2024.
