The Democrat’s standard bearers are hitting the campaign trail this weekend with the hope of energizing the base in states with close races.

Former President Barack Obama is kicking off a five-state tour on Friday in Georgia, where polls show Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock losing ground to football legend Herschel Walker after the latter’s strong showing in their first debate.

State Democrats also hope the Atlanta rally will help boost their gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, which a Rasmussen poll released yesterday found 10 points behind incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp.

On Thursday, President Joe Biden took a daytrip out to New York, a deep-blue state where Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul is facing a serious challenge from Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin, the GOP gubernatorial candidate who was once trailing her by double digits.

Biden appeared at a rally with Hochul and other state Democrats at a Syracuse community college, where they touted improving economic figures and chipmaker Micron’s plans for a 9,000-worker, $100 billion plant in the area.

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to join Biden in Pennsylvania tonight for the state party’s annual Independence Dinner, a major fundraiser, marking the White House’s first appearance with Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman.

Having suffered a stroke in May, the Pennsylvania lieutenant governor has been slipping in the polls since an unsteady debate performance Tuesday against GOP opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz. Viewers expressed concerns about whether he was fit for office after watching him give shaky, sometimes incoherent responses.

CNN reports that Obama has been in high demand among Democratic midterms candidates, may of whom are trying to avoid associations with Biden, has suffered from low approval ratings through out the year. But his involvement thus far has been restricted to party fundraisers and recordings.
