A new poll found that Vice President Kamala Harris and former first lady Michelle Obama are the top two favorites for the presidential Democratic nomination in 2024 if President Biden does not run again.

The survey conducted by Hill-HarrisX on November 18 and 19, found that 13 percent of the 939 registered voters would like Harris as a potential contender for president. Mrs. Obama followed with 10 percent of the vote.

Among the respondents who voted for Biden in 2020, 22 percent said they would choose Harris.

Other candidates who received 5 percent or less include Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Cory Booker, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former candidate for president Andrew Yang.

Thirteen percent said they preferred a candidate that was not on the list. Thirty-six percent of respondents said they were unsure who they would vote for in the primaries if Biden does not run in 2024.

It is unclear whether Biden will run for re-election in 2024. However, there are concerns over Biden’s health and age. If re-elected, Biden would be 82 at the start of his second term.

Biden’s approval rating has also seen a steep fall, following the pandemic and the country’s rising inflation. In the latest Quinnipiac University poll, only 36 percent of respondents approved of Biden’s performance.
