Appearing on the "Pod Save America" podcast on Thursday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki derided Democrats for criticizing the Biden administration's handling of inflation in the United States.

“Oftentimes we get a little cannibalistic about what our own plans are and whether they are good enough or whether we are passing them fast enough or what have you,” she said, Breitbart News reported.

Wholesale prices increased by 11.2% in March compared to the same period last year and rose 1.1% month-to-month from February, according to the Department of Labor.

Psaki then turned to the Republicans, asserting the opposition party had no solution to inflation.

“If you look at the other side, there’s nothing in the cupboard, they have zero plan, we all agree inflation is a problem, they have no plan to address it,” she said. “We could be saying that more and I think it would help.”

Democrats in Congress made their opinions known on the issue this week. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., on Tuesday said the Biden "administration failed to act fast enough" on inflation. He further the "American people deserve the truth about why record inflation is happening and what must be done to control it."

"Here is the truth, we cannot spend our way to a balanced, healthy economy and continue adding to our $30 trillion national debt," he added.

Amid the rising inflation, President Joe Biden's approval rating came in at 33% in a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday.
