ABC News confirmed Thursday that Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump and Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris will debate on the national news network on Sept. 10.

“ABC News will host qualifying presidential candidates to debate on September 10 on ABC,” the national news network posted on the social media platform X. “Vice President Harris and former President Trump have both confirmed they will attend the ABC debate.”

During an earlier press conference, Trump signaled that the two candidates have three debates scheduled.

"I think it's very important to have debates, and we've agreed with Fox on a date of September 4," Trump said. "We've agreed with NBC, a fairly full agreement, subject to them on September 10, and we've agreed with ABC on September 25. So, we have those three dates and those networks.”

The former president made the announcement from his Palm Beach based estate, Mar-a-Lago.

On the social media site X later on Thursday, the vice president wrote that, “I hear that Donald Trump has fully committed to debating me on September 10. I look forward to it.”

Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff said he “cannot wait” to see his wife debate Trump during a private fundraiser in Paris on Thursday. The Second Gentleman was in Paris to head the U.S. delegation to the Summer Olympics closing ceremony.

Fox News has also offered to host a debate between Trump and Harris for Sept. 4, and NBC News is offering to host one on Sept. 25.

During a Michigan appearance in the Great Lake State, Harris said she was “happy to have that conversation” about having another debate.
