The social network being launched by former President Donald Trump will launch on Feb. 21, according to the list of releases scheduled on Apple's App Store.

Trump Media & Technology Group announced the launch of TRUTH Social in October and has branded the platform as a way to "stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech."

The new platform will include a "TRUTH feed," as well as the same notifications and other functions available on the majority of social media apps.

Ultimately, the app is meant to serve as a response to Big Tech censorship from platforms like Twitter and Facebook, which de-platformed then-President Trump following the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.

Currently, platforms such as Gettr, Parler and Gab have become the go-to social media sites for the former president’s supporters. These sites are seen as free-speech alternatives and are used to protest the censorship promoted by companies like Twitter or Facebook.

After being banned by Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for "inciting violence", the former U.S. president has sought to win back his followers on alternative social media sites.

Last year he launched a blog called "From Donald Trump's Desk," which he touted as an important means of communication. However, less than a month after its launch it was shut down.

"We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced," he wrote. "This is unacceptable."
