Joe Biden’s approval rating plummeted, with only 33% of Americans content with how he handles his job responsibilities, a new Quinnipiac University Poll found.

The poll found that 54% of respondents disapproved of Biden’s performance, with 43% of them “strongly” disapproving.

“In today's poll, Democrats approve (76 - 12%) of Biden's job performance, while independents disapprove (56 - 26 percent) and Republicans disapprove (94 - 3%),” the university said in a statement.

Among registered voters, 35% of them approved of the president’s job performance, 55% disapproved, and 10% did not answer. The 35% that approved of his performance match the low figure he received on the January 12, 2022, Quinnipiac University Poll.

Among Republicans, 94% disapproved if Biden’s job performance, as well as 56% of independents. The poll added that only 76% of Democrats approved of his work.

Biden’s disapproval ratings are high among white adults (59-31%) and Hispanic adults (54-26%). Black Americans approve of Biden (64-25%). However, this number has decreased from the 78% that approved of him in April of last year.

Across gender lines, 63 percent of white men and 56% of white women are not happy with the president’s job performance.

When it comes to Biden’s handling of the United States’ response to the invasion of Ukraine, 48 disapproved of the president’s actions. Fifty-two percent of Americans believe the administration should be doing more to stop the war and increase help to Ukraine.

The Quinnipiac poll surveyed 1,412 adults between April 7 and April 11. Its margin of error is estimated at plus or minus 2.6% points.
