This week, Russia has suffered significant losses to its military equipment after Ukrainian forces destroyed several tanks and armored vehicles, according to several reports.

The Ukrainian online newspaper, Ukrainska Pravda, reported on Saturday that the country’s forces successfully destroyed eight Russian tanks and 11 armored vehicles, according to Newsweek.

The report was confirmed by a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday, which counted the damage that Kyiv forces had inflicted on their Russian counterpart.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, Ukrainian officials have been keeping an estimate of the total losses that the Kremlin has faced.

So far, around 43,550 Russians have been killed in the war, including an additional 150 that were killed on Sunday, according to the post.

Around 1,864 Russian tanks have been destroyed, with an additional eight destroyed this weekend. Similarly, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 4,126 Russian combat vehicles, the post continues.

“As well as this, five operational-tactical UAVs, three vehicles and fuel tankers, two artillery systems and one helicopter, were destroyed on August 13, according to Ukraine,” Newsweek reported.

Additionally, Kyiv fighters disabled “261 multiple-launch rocket systems, 136 air defense systems, 233 aircraft, 194 helicopters, 980 artillery systems, 187 cruise missiles, 15 ships/boats, 3,039 vehicles, and fuel tankers and 91 other vehicles,” the news source continues.

According to the post by the General Staff, most of the losses that Russia has suffered have taken place in the Donetsk region.
