Former athlete Usain Bolt and world record holder in 100, 200 and 4x100 meters, injured the Achilles tendon in his right leg in a charity match played this Sunday at Chelsea's London stadium, Stamford Bridge.
Bolt reported the mishap through his social networks and showed a photograph in the field locker room with his right leg immobilized with two crutches and with the message, “Achilles broken, but we are warriors.”
The fastest man in the world, who has marks of 9.58 in the 100m and 19.19 in the 200m, both recorded in Berlin, was playing with the UNICEF team against a group of former English glories when he was injured while trying to avoid Jermain's hospitalization Defoe.
The event was also attended by music stars, such as the famous British singer Robbie Williams, and other football legends.

Bolt, retired from athletics in 2022 and a great lover of football, was left lying on the grass after the injury. Medical teams quickly entered the playing field to see what had happened to the multiple athletics champion and removed him on a stretcher.
Before getting injured, Bolt had assisted the Italian Del Piero in one of his team's goals. The match ended 6-3 in favor of the England figures, who, for the first time since 2018, won the game.
After his memorable performances at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games, in addition to his world titles, Usain sought to become a soccer player.
In August 2018 he was tried out for the reserve team of the Central Coast Mariners of the Australian league but did not reach an agreement on the contract and six months later he announced that he was giving up his dream of being a soccer player.
