Former President Donald Trump easily cinched the 2024 presidential straw poll at CPAC 2022 on Saturday, beating out what many analysts consider his closest rival for the spot, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Trump rolled up 69% of the votes in the anonymous online poll, while DeSantis pulled down just 24%.

DeSantis in the showing had slipped in the ranks relative to his showing at the February CPAC event, where he netted 28% of the 2024 straw poll.

Trump is set to speak at CPAC later on Saturday as the headline event. The conference is being held in Dallas, Tx., this month.
