Texas Border Patrol agents found a group of undocumented migrants hidden inside a grain hopper rail car, where they had no means of escape, the Laredo Sector Border Patrol said in a statement.

Border Patrol agents intercepted the truck in Hebbronville, Texas, about an hour away from the U.S.-Mexico border, on October 10.

According to the statement, K9 Timmy and his handler were routinely inspecting an eastbound train. As they were walking alongside the train, K9 Timmy alerted to possible concealed human/narcotics inside the grain hopper.

Border Patrol agents then climbed onboard the train and discovered 13 undocumented individuals trapped inside the grain hopper.

The migrants were removed from the railcar and were medically examined before being sent to the Hebbronville Station for processing.

The migrants were from Mexico and Guatemala, according to record checks.

The discovery of the migrants inside the grain hopper rail car comes a week after Arizona border patrol agents also found nine undocumented migrants inside a hidden compartment within a cattle trailer near the U.S.-Mexico border.

The migrants were found hiding within a tight space beneath a false floor inside the trailer.

“The migrants had no means of escape,” said the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in a statement.
