CBP locates more than 100 migrants in stash houses throughout El Paso

So far in Fiscal Year 2023, El Paso Border Patrol agents have found more than 95 stash houses containing more than 1,200 migrants

Authorities found more than 170 undocumented migrants hidden in several stash houses throughout El Paso this week, according to local news reports in Texas.

On Sunday, Border Patrol officials found 50 migrants in a stash house near Fairbank Drive and U.S. Highway 54. The migrants were being housed inside the home’s car garage, which was in deplorable condition, reported KFOX14.

The migrants, which came from Guatemala, Mexico, and El Salvador, were found to be in good health, authorities added. 

Two individuals from Mexico were detained and will face prosecution for human smuggling. 

On Tuesday, authorities found an additional 25 migrants from Mexico, Ecuador, and Colombia. The individuals in the group were found to be in good health, according to a press release by Border Patrol. 

On Wednesday, authorities discovered 78 migrants crammed inside a small house near East Paisano Drive and Frutas Avenue in south-central El Paso. The migrants came from Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and El Salvador. The group included three unaccompanied minors from Guatemala. 

Those migrants were also found in good health and were taken to the Border Patrol station for processing, and law enforcement officials were able to identify the suspected smuggler. 

On Thursday, Border Patrol agents from Yselta Station and the Santa Teresa Station found 19 migrants from Mexico, Ecuador, Honduras, and Guatemala in a home in Horizon city. 

In that case, authorities identified a criminal from Ecuador among the migrants who had a prior conviction for second-degree rape against a child in 2014. 

Border Patrol officials said that all of the migrants found throughout the course of the week would be expelled to Mexico.
