Texas authorities seized hundreds of pounds of marijuana that were smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border over the weekend, officials reported on Monday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the U.S. Border Patrol, and the Texas Game Wardens made the bust in a joint operation at around 6 p.m. on Saturday in the border town of Rio Grande City, a DPS spokesman told Fox News.

Officials intercepted a group of individuals attempting to smuggle 463 pounds of marijuana wrapped in multiple packages. The drugs were first transported on a raft from Mexico and then loaded into a vehicle, authorities said.

At the time of the bust, the smugglers fled to the Mexican side of the border. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday.

The operation behind the bust was part of Operation Lone Star, Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s measure to fight against the rising number of undocumented immigrants and crime at the border that was launched in March.

As part of the security mission, authorities have seized several kinds of drugs that are being smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Last week, Governor Abbott said the security mission has resulted in more than 336 million “lethal doses” of fentanyl seized by officials at the border, enough to kill the entire population of the U.S.
