Border patrol agents in Texas found almost 200 undocumented immigrants inside an 18-wheeler—115 of which were tightly packed into the cargo area, the New York Post reported.

Authorities in Laredo said they spotted a suspicious trailer on Killam Industrial Boulevard. Officials tried to pull it over, but the truck kept driving on. Eventually, the truck stop on mile Marker 10.

Inside the truck, border patrol agents found immigrants from Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador, including three unaccompanied minors.

“They’re lucky that it was a cold night in Laredo when that happened. Inside those trailers, it can get up to 115, 120 degrees, and then with that amount of people in there, it’s extremely dangerous,” said a spokeswoman for the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo sector, Sara Melendez.

“There’s no ventilation, there’s nothing. It’s just a closed, sealed box,” she said.

The driver was a U.S. citizen, added the authorities.

Laredo border patrol agents encountered two other smuggling operations in the last 36 hours, in which at least 78 immigrants were also found in trucks.
