Oreo turns 110: must-try recipes with the cookie

On Monday, Oreo announced the release of a new cake-flavored cookie in celebration of its 110th birthday on March 6. Oreo fans can pre-order the Oreo Chocolate Confetti Cake Cookie at $4.50 a pack or wait until it becomes available in stores on January 31.

“These chocolate cookies are the classic OREO snack cookies you’ve always loved with an unforgettable twist. These sandwich cookies are filled with a chocolate confetti cake-flavored crème with rainbow sprinkles on top and inside the crème filling,” said Oreo.

While you wait for the new cake-flavored Oreo, here are some recipes with Oreos to try out.

Oreo-Raspberry Cookie Balls

Serving size: 48 servings

Ingredients:

• 1 package brick cream cheese, softened
• 36 Oreo cookies, crushed
• 1/3 cup raspberry jam
• ¼ cup chopped dried cranberries
• 1 oz. white baking chocolate, melted
• Red food coloring
• 4 packages of 4 oz. each semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted

Directions:

Mix the cream cheese, Oreos, raspberry, and cranberries. Shape mixture into 48 balls. Freeze for 10 minutes.

Mix the white chocolate and food coloring until mixture is pink (use around 2 drops of the food coloring).

Dip balls into the semi-sweet melted chocolate and place in a single layer on a waxed paper-lined pan. Drizzle with pink chocolate.

Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Chocolate covered Oreos

Ingredients:

• 1 package Oreo cookies (any flavor)
• 16 ounces candy melts
• Sprinkles

Directions:

Melt the candy melts in the microwave in increments of 30 seconds. Dip each Oreo in the chocolate.

Place the Oreos on a sheet of parchment paper. Add sprinkles on top of each Oreo. Let cookies dry.

Oreo milkshake

Ingredients:

• 2 cups vanilla ice cream
• 2/3 cup milk
• 8 Oreo cookies
• Whipped cream

Directions:

Blend ice cream, milk, and Oreos until smooth.

Serve in large glasses and top with whipped cream.

Oreo covered strawberries

Instructions:

• 12 strawberries
• 10 Oreos
• 2 tablespoons instant chocolate pudding mix
• 2 ounces melting chocolate wafers

Directions:

Finely crush your Oreos. In a mixing bowl, add the crushed Oreos and the instant chocolate pudding mix. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, melt the chocolate.

Dip the strawberries into the chocolate and then into the Oreo and pudding mix. Set aside on a sheet of wax paper. Let stand for 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
