Woman robbed at knifepoint in New York City subway station 

The robber was able to get away with the woman’s purse, which was later recovered but found empty.

A woman was mugged with a knife during rush hour in a Washington Heights subway station, police reported. 

The robbery took place at West 163rd Street station at around 6 p.m. on Thursday. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras. 

The male suspect approached the victim, a 43-year-old woman, showing a knife in an attempt to take her cellphone. Shortly after, the two engaged in a brief struggle.

The robber was able to get away with the woman’s purse, which was later recovered but found empty. According to the police, an unknown amount of money was taken from the bag. 

The woman was uninjured. 

NYPD is still looking for the assailant.
