Police sources reported that the 26-year-old son of a retired Manhattan Supreme Court justice killed his mother on Tuesday morning before jumping from the 16th floor of a New York City apartment building, according to People.

According to multiple NYPD sources, investigators believe Doug Solomon used a night-light to beat his mother, Diane Gallagher, 65, to death.

Sources later claim that Solomon, who had no clothes on, committed suicide by jumping out of a 16th-floor window. He ended up in the courtyard of the Upper East Side building where his parents have an apartment.

Sources say Solomon was staying with his parents at the time of the murder-suicide.

Doug is the son of Charles Solomon, a New York Supreme Court Justice who retired from the bench in 2017. Sources say he was not at home at the time of the tragic deaths.

Responding officers found Diane in a bedroom with severe head trauma, sources say. Doug had no criminal record, no known psychiatric problems and the motive for the murder is still unknown.

According to the New York Post, Judge Solomon oversaw the 2001 nightclub shooting trial of hip hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.
