A Manhattan congressional candidate released a porn video starring himself to highlight his “sex positivity” political campaign.
Mike Itkis, who is running against Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler in New York’s 12th District, posted the steamy, 13-minute sex tape titled “Bucket List Bonanza” with adult movie star Nicole Sage.
“If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue,” he told City & State. “And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform.”
According to the 53-year-old candidate who is running as a third-party independent, it was his first time having sex in front of a camera.
“I’m very much an introvert,” he said. “I’m kind of a nerd who doesn’t like to be the center of attention if I can avoid it. But I thought the issues I’m trying to address are so important.”
“I wanted to have my issues talked about in some way,” he said.
Itkis’ campaign has focused on making sexual rights explicit by “ending adultery laws” and “decriminalizing and legalizing sex work.”
On his campaign website, Itkis describes himself as a "liberal independent candidate" who is "not married. No kids. Not celibate. Atheist."
