The Bed Bath & Beyond executive who fell to his death from the iconic "Jenga Building" in New York City committed suicide, the New York Medical Examiner's Office determined Monday.
Reuters reports that 52-year-old chief financial officer Gustavo Arnal died from "multiple" blunt force trauma. Law enforcement sources previously said he didn't leave a suicide note or tell his wife anything before the jump.
His death follows company announcements of 150 store closures and layoffs, as well as a lawsuit filed last month against Arnal and the company for an alleged "pump and dump" scheme in which the CFO sold his shares after artificially inflating the stock.
It forecast a 26% decline in same-store sales for the second quarter.
