Former President Donald Trump called for all Senate Democrats to resign in the wake of corruption charges against Sen. Bob Menendez, asserting some of them had knowledge about the allegations contained in the indictment recently filed by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

“Senate Democrats should all resign based on Senator Bob Menendez! They all knew what was going on, and the way he lived,” the former president said on social media.

Trump also suggested he had been treated unfairly compared to Menendez, questioning why the FBI didn’t raid the senator’s home “like they illegally raided Mar-a-Lago.”

The posting suggested the former president may not be aware that the FBI executed a search warrant in June 2022 at the home Menendez shares with his wife, Nadine.

That search that led FBI to more than $480,000 in cash, bars of gold, and a luxury convertible, which are all now being used as evidence in the government’s case against him.

“Why doesn’t the FBI raid Senate Democrat’s homes like they illegally raided Mar-a-Lago, where nothing was done wrong based on the Presidential Records Act,” Trump asked.

“Menendez is a ‘piker’ compared to some of those Election Stealing THUGS. Can you imagine how much Crooked Joe Biden has stolen, and what’s in some of his many homes? The FBI and ‘Justice’ notified him that they would be going in to look, ‘in a few weeks.’ In other words, get rid of the cash, gold, & documents, ASAP, before we get there.

“They didn’t give me any warning, they just showed up. Hunter lived with Crooked Joe in Delaware. It would be a ‘Treasure Hunt!’ Crooked’s coffers must be loaded up with cash. I wonder how much they got paid for Rigging the Election?”

Trump finished his rant by pushing claims of election fraud and accusations against his successor, President Biden calling upon all Democrats to stand down from the Senate.

“Menendez is one of many, a small timer at that. EVERY DEMOCRAT SHOULD RESIGN FROM THE SENATE! Our Border’s are Broken, our Election’s are Rigged. MAGA!” he wrote.

Trump’s presumption of Menendez’s guilt comes amid his own prosecutorial cases in four different jurisdictions in Florida, Georgia, New York and Washington, D.C.

Several Republicans have recommended Trump suspend his 2024 presidential campaign, but contrary to his demands for Democrats, he has continued his push to return to the White House.

Trump was charged for the first time back in April by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg following an investigation into payments to adult actress Stormy Daniels from before the 2016 election.

Then came his first federal indictment, following a two-year investigation by special counsel Jack Smith, over his alleged mishandling of classified documents on leaving office.

Trump was charged again in August in a second federal indictment with four counts based on accusations he tried to overturn the 2020 election with the events leading up to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

That same month, Trump and 18 associates were indicted in a RICO case in Georgia, based on allegations they also tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election result in the southern state.

“Why doesn't the FBI raid the homes of Senate Democrats like they did illegally at Mar-a-Lago, where nothing wrong was done under the Presidential Records Act?” Trump wrote.

Menendez and his wife were accused in New York of bribery to help businessmen and the government of Egypt. Several Democrats have called upon the New Jersey senator to resign, but the long standing legislator has refused.

Trump also lashed out against the FBI for giving Biden advance notice of its searches:

“Can you imagine how much corrupt Joe Biden has stolen and what is in some of his many homes? The FBI and 'Justice' notified him that they would go search 'in a few weeks.’ In other words, get rid of the cash, gold and documents as soon as possible, before we get there.”
