Texas men transporting undocumented migrants arrested in New Jersey

After searching the car, officers found that the men had in their possession $15,200 and two 9-millimeter handguns

Two individuals from Texas who had been paid to transport undocumented migrants from Texas two New York were arrested last week, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Monday.

Officers from the narcotic task forced stopped their car on August 25 in Ridgefield, New Jersey, according to a statement from the office.

After searching the car, officers found that the men had in their possession $15,200 and two 9-millimeter handguns, one with hollow nose bullets.

A further investigation revealed that the two men, Francis Hidalgo, 23, from Missouri City Texas, and Antonio Moreno, 23, of Stafford, Texas, were on their way to deliver the money to an unidentified person.

The two men were arrested on the spot, according to investigators. Hidalgo was charged with money laundering and weapons-related offenses. Moreno was charged with weapons-related offenses.

The men were soon released under unspecified conditions set during their initial court appearance in the Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
