Mexico’s state and federal authorities said on Thursday they arrested an alleged serial killer who lured young women by offering them jobs on Facebook.

The suspect “is a serial killer of women, and there are at least seven cases of women’s killings where this person could be involved,” said Assistant Public Safety Secretary Ricardo Mejia.

The latest victim was a 31-year-old woman who went for a “job interview” in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz.

“Viridiana Moreno left her house in (the town of) Cardel, Veracruz, and went to the Bienvenido hotel to attend a supposed job interview she had obtained with someone on Facebook,” said Mejía. “After that, she disappeared.”

Her body was found several days later but was unrecognizable. Authorities were able to identify her by an ID card found near the scene and DNA testing.

According to Veracruz state prosecutors, Moreno responded to a post to an account registered to “Mary Madison” that offered $90 a week for a receptionist. “Duties include answering phones and making appointments,” the post read.

Prosecutors from the state of Morelos said on Thursday that the same suspect killed a 22-year-old student in April. She was lured into meeting the suspect in a cafeteria after responding to a Facebook listing for a job or articles on sale. He then took her to a barber shop, where he allegedly killed her.

Her body was found three days later. “The victim had been beaten, sexually abused, and strangled,” prosecutors said.

Authorities found surveillance camera footage that shows the man meeting his victims in public places in two different states. Suggesting that the killer made contact with the women in public places with lots of people so that it looked like they had come willingly.

The alleged suspect was arrested with a female companion in Queretaro. He allegedly had a string of aliases; the most used ones were Juan Carlos Gasperin and Greek Roman Villalobos. He was charged with rape in 2012.
