Marc Anthony suffered an accident in the middle of the Pa' allá voy tour, which had him performing in Panama City this week. According to Univision's TV show, El Gordo y La Flaca, and some Panamanian media outlets such as Telemetro, the incident occurred on the night of Wednesday, May 4, just before going on stage.

The singer had come to that city to reschedule a concert that had already been postponed previously. The original date of the presentation was February 23, but due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 infections in the city, the concert was rescheduled for May 4.

According to El Gordo y La Flaca's Instagram account, the singer of Vivir mi vida and Tu amor me hace bien suffered an accident "backstage, so he had to be attended by medical personnel."

"We wish a speedy recovery to @marcanthony who last night had to cancel his performance at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama as part of his #pallavoy tour after suffering an accident prior to the concert," the program posted on its social media profile.

The morning magazine Despierta América, which was released on Thursday morning, also shared details. According to the magazine, the incident occurred on some stairs, and the singer suffered "back complications."

Likewise, the Univision morning show said that the singer "is being transferred to Miami." The office that represents him thanked "all the medical personnel in Panama who immediately made an appointment" to attend to him.

The concert was to be held at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium, where the artist's fans were eagerly waiting for the show, and only minutes before the scheduled time it was confirmed that the singer would not go on stage.

No exact details have been revealed as to what happened or about the health condition of the 53-year-old artist. As of Thursday, May 5, the singer had not commented on the matter through his social media, although his office shared an official statement on the matter.

The company in charge of the concert, Magic Dream, apologized to the public and said that their tickets would continue to be valid, as the presentation would be rescheduled.
