Castro was sworn into office in late January after obtaining 51.12 percent of the votes, becoming the Central American country's first female president.
Manuel Zelaya, Castro’s husband and former president who was ousted from government in 2009, said he had tested positive on January 11.
According to her husband, Castro has two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Covid-19 cases are rising in Honduras. The Central American country has reported over 40,000 positive cases and more than 10,500 deaths.
