Although winter continues to ravage the United States and the East Coast is expecting yet another snowstorm this weekend – the truth is its only winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

In South America, it’s summer -- and as countries continue to ease their COVID-19 restrictions, now might be the perfect time to swap your wintery reality for warm weather, loads of sunshine, sandy beaches and some of the world’s most delicious food.

It might be five o'clock somewhere ... but it's definitely 80 degrees in Lima!

If you’re ready to escape the cold and the monotony of your favorite local bistro, consider taking a trip to one of these five Latin American countries. According to the latest “50 Best” ranking, the top 10 restaurants in Latin America can be found in Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.

Whether you’re craving a taste of the Andes in Lima’s bohemian Barranco district or perhaps a traditional parrillada (bife de cuadril and some mollejas?) in Buenos Aires’ trendy Palermo neighborhood – you can’t go wrong if you follow your nose – and your gut – to one of Latin America's top ten best restaurants.
