A gunman opened fire in a busy Orlando street early Sunday morning, injuring seven people, police reported.
According to local police, the shooter opened fire after a brawl at around 2:22 a.m. in the area of Wall Street Plaza and South Orange Avenue on Sunday as bars and restaurants were closing, causing a stampede of people running away from the scene.
A live video taken at the time shows the late-night scene bustling with people. But as soon as the string of gunshots is heard, people start running for their lives and seeking cover.
The footage later shows several people lying on the ground after being injured from the gunshots.
“I ran and everyone fled and all I saw was a bunch of dispersed people, everyone going crazy,” witness William Solomon told News 6. “If it happened in the heart of downtown, I don’t know if anything is safe nowadays.”
A shooting in the downtown area of #Orlando, Florida left at least seven people injured in the overnight hours between Saturday night and Sunday morning, Orlando police said.
