A woman who drove across a crowded Florida beach and ended up stranded in the water is facing charges for allegedly driving under the influence, authorities said Saturday.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said witnesses reported a reckless driver who crashed into water after driving 50mph near beachgoers, nearly hitting a child with his car.

Driver Sarah Ramsammy, 26, of Orlando, is being charged with a DUI, reckless driving and failing to obey a traffic control device.

The images shared by the Volusia Sheriff's Office show the van stranded on the beach with several people surrounding the vehicle, while officers conducted an interrogation with the alleged perpetrator.

In the video, Ramsammy seems to explain that she was behind the wheel when bathers suddenly stopped her to tell her that she almost ran over her children from her. The clip ends with the arrest of the young woman.
