NFL great Tom Brady and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen are filing their divorce papers today, according to sources close to the couple.

Lawyers for the celebrity power couple have been working with a mediator to hammer out property settlement and custody, reports TMZ citing sources with direct knowledge of the proceedings.

The sources said that Brady and Bundchen have reached an agreement and that divorce documents will formally filed today in Florida.

They added that the filings will be short and the terms of the settlement will remain “confidential and sealed.”

The news of their marriage’s impending closure come shortly after reports of Bundchen offering her husband an “ultimatum,” making him choose between football and their family.

Rumors of tensions between the seven-time Super Bowl champion and the world-famous Brazilian model began around the time Brady un-retired from the NFL in March.  Bundchen was reportedly upset because the star quarterback had promised to retire and focus on the family but found herself once again the only one with their children, according to Page Six.

The supermodel publicly praised her husband’s decision to return to the field at the time.

Earlier this month, Brady and Bundchen reportedly hired divorce lawyers to begin dividing their assets.

The failing relationship appears to have affected Brady’s performance on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who slipped to a 3-5 record after losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.

One source close to the couple said Brady has been “playing defense” in the divorce and suggested that his emotional pain may stem from how the star is used to winning.

"Think about it: Tom has had a very charmed life," says the source. "Things always seem to go his way. He works hard, he's a good guy, he hasn't had a lot of things go wrong in his life. This is awful for him. You can tell that this really, really hurts."
