Two teenagers were shot and wounded Wednesday in the West 22nd Court area of Hialeah, an incident already under police investigation.

An 18-year-old female and a 16-year-old male were shot late Wednesday night, but were able to reach Mount Sinai Medical Center for medical treatment on their own, the Hialeah Fire Department confirmed.

Both teens arrived conscious at the medical center and were later airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.

The teenage girl suffered gunshot wounds to her arm and leg and the other minor was shot in the arm.

It is unknown at this time exactly where the shooting occurred since the victims traveled from the scene of the shooting to the hospital, Local 10 News reported.

There is no information on suspects in custody.

In July, 15-year-old Frank Vacarro was killed in a shooting in the Gladeview neighborhood of Miami-Dade County, authorities said.

Then in September, juveniles Davione Marquise Nelson, 16, and Spirit Iday Reath, 15, were arrested and face charges in Vacarro's murder.
