A Florida man was charged with murdering and then dismembering an Uber Eats driver that was delivering food to his home “for no reason,” authorities said on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Oscar Solis Jr., 30, is accused of murdering the driver that was delivering his UberEats order at his home in Holiday, Florida.
The case is being investigated by the Paso County Sheriff Chris Nocco.
The remains of Randall Cooke, 59, were found inside Solis’ house scattered in trash bags and a cooler. Police also found a receipt with Solis' name on it, according to the affidavit. The blood of the victim was found in several places around the house, along with a key fob on Solis’ dresser that belonged to Cooke, as well as his wedding ring.
Investigators obtained a surveillance video from the house, showing Cooke approaching Solis’ house to make the food delivery. Moments later, two men leave the house carrying heavy trash bags.
“This was a horrific crime of passion,” Nocco said. “This was demonic. What he did was demonic.”
Cooke was reported missing by his wife after he did not return home from his delivery. Uber told police about the victim’s last known location on Moog Road.
Solis faces several charges, including murder while engaged in a robbery, failure to register as a convicted felon and parole violation in Indiana. He was released from an Indiana prison in January after serving four years for assault and burglary.
Jail records and a mugshot showed that Solis, measuring 6 feet and 315 pounds, had his face covered with tattoos and belonged to the violent MS-13 gang.
“You're talking about a very violent individual that Indiana released and sent down to Florida," said Nocco.
"Now, we have a hardworking guy, a loving husband who is no longer with us," the sheriff said.
Solis had moved to Florida only three months ago to take over his father’s room in the house. His father, who no longer lives in the home, allegedly ordered the food delivery for Solis, according to Nocco.
