A Florida man is being charged with two counts of video voyeurism after he allegedly filmed two victims under a bathroom stall in an airport, one of which was an 11-year-old child, announced the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
An employee for SSP, a food and beverage company inside the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, identified as Michael Fernandez Fuentes, 46, allegedly recorded victims under the bathroom stall.
Two separate victims reported that they saw a reflection of themselves in a cellphone that was being held under the stall door in June.
An investigation determined that Fuentes allegedly entered the bathroom stall next to the two victims, where he proceeded to take the pictures with his phone’s front facing camera.
Fuentes admitted to police that he was using his cellphone while in the bathroom, but denied filming or using his cellphone’s camera.
However, after obtaining a search warrant for his phone, authorities found over 160 pictures taken in adjacent stalls, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
“Detectives also discovered that the camera and photo gallery were accessed multiple times during the times while both victims were in the bathroom with the suspect,” the police added.
He was arrested and booked into the county jail. However, he was released from the county jail on a $15,000 bond on Saturday.
The investigation is still ongoing.
