About a month after the shocking death of Christina Ashten Gourkani, a young influencer dubbed by the networks as "Kim Kardashian's double," the case has taken an unexpected turn.
Although the family stated in a GoFundMe post that they would not provide information on the death of Christina, 34, sources indicated at the time that she had died from botched cosmetic surgery.
This Tuesday it emerged that in Fort Lauderdale, a woman by the name of Vivian Gómez, 50, was arrested. She is accused of practicing medicine without a license and now faces serious charges in connection with the death of the influencer.
According to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe, Gourkani died of cardiac arrest related to cosmetic surgery performed by injections to augment her buttocks.
It is still unknown what substance these injections contained, since according to said source the toxicology results are still pending, as confirmed by PEOPLE.
The arrest of Vivian Gómez occurred on April 20, and it occurred at the Fort Lauderdale international airport, the day of the death of the young influencer.
