Authorities reported that none of the detainees presented medical problems.
The photo released by the Coast Guard showed the rafters in a fragile boat with a sail and boldly flying a U.S. flag.
Although former President Barack Obama eliminated the "Wet Feet, Dry Feet" policy, which allowed Cubans who arrive by sea but made landfall to stay in the country and utilize the Cuban Adjustment Act, the current policy is allowing Cuban rafters to stay when they make landfall without being intercepted. This is because the Cuban government is not accepting air deportations.
Those who are detained at sea are generally returned to the island.
