Cuban American influencer Alex Otaola launches campaign for Miami-Dade mayor

Cuban-American television presenter and activist Alex Otaola celebrated the launch of his campaign on Monday after announcing his candidacy for mayor of Miami-Dade County a few days ago.

Otaola, who has gained popularity in recent years for his YouTube talk show and his stance against the Cuban regime. The candidate has said that his objective is to get the communists out of this city.

On April 18, Otaola presented his candidacy accompanied by his legal team, and signed the papers that formalize his intention to become mayor of the city.

With his campaign launch, Otaola joins a growing field of candidates in the Miami-Dade County mayoral race, which will be held in November 2024.

Otaola enters politics for a non-partisan position, although the communicator has adopted traditionally conservative positions, which are aligned with the Republican Party and former President Donald Trump.
