The body of an elderly woman was found inside a refrigerator in the garage of a house located at 100 Paddock Street in Sebastian, Florida, according to WPTV-TV.

The woman’s body was found last Thursday in the house after a neighbor called the police to report that he had not seen the owner of the house, a 93-year-old woman, for a long time.

After knocking on the door several times and receiving no answer, the police entered the house, thanks to a key provided by a relative of the elderly woman.

Upon entering, authorities found Marie Hoskins' body inside a freezer.

"They decided to continue into the residence to see if she was inside, at which time, when they entered the garage, they located a chest freezer and there was a deceased person inside," according to Timothy Wood, Sebastian Police Captain.

Police have not disclosed further details of the ongoing investigation but said they questioned the victim's 64-year-old daughter, who informed them that she had not seen her mother for a long time.

Police were working with the state prosecutor and the medical examiner's office on the investigation.
