Around $10,000 and two credit cards were allegedly stolen by an Argentinean man traveling on a flight from Buenos Aires to Miami, local authorities reported Thursday.

The suspect, identified as Diego Sebastian Radio, 29, was detained by Customs and Border Patrol upon his arrival at the Miami airport last Tuesday, July 5, and faces robbery charges, The Daily Beast reported.

According to authorities, the crew reported "suspicious behavior" from Radio, who repeatedly walked down the center aisle of the plane and had been sitting "for a period of time" in a seat that was not his own. He was later seen holding "what appeared to be a woman's wallet."

Given the suspicions, once the plane arrived at the airport, Radio was searched by the authorities, who found in his backpack 10,732 dollars in cash, credit cards, and 14,000 Argentine pesos, which is equivalent to almost 54 dollars, reported the aforementioned media.

One of the victims recognized his cards and the cash. Radio had the cards in his back pocket. It is believed that the robbery was committed when the plane was already over international waters.

Following the arrest, a criminal prosecution for the crime of theft of valuables over $1,000 was initiated in Miami-Dade County by prosecutor Juan Gonzalez, reported Daily Mail.
