A 103-year-old Swedish woman broke the world record as the oldest person to skydive on Sunday.

"It was wonderful. I had thought about this for a long time," Rut Larsson told the Swedish news agency TT, adding that "everything went as planned."

Larsson was accompanied by her family and friends who were waiting for her to land on the runway of the Motala airfield in Motala, Östergötland province, Sweden.

The century-old woman jumped with skydiver Joackim Johansson. The couple landed safely and, after a successful landing, everyone celebrated by having a piece of a small cake.

"I can't see very well now, but it felt good. It's a nice feeling," the woman said when she landed.

A Guinness World Records worker was present and recorded the descent before handing Larsson the world certificate.

The woman, who fulfilled her dream at 103 years and 259 days, broke the previous record of 103 years and 181 days.
