Russia, Ukraine to resume talks in Belarus, report

Russian and Ukrainian officials have confirmed their respective delegations will meet again in Belarus in an effort to reach an agreement about how to stop Russia's invasion of neighboring Ukraine, as death tolls and destruction mount. 

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office told the Associated Press that its delegation is on its way but gave no details on the time of the arrival.

The statement followed Russian officials saying the Ukraine is en route for expected to resume Thursday, following failed ones last week, with the invasion as of Wednesday now in its seventh day. 

"As far as I know, the Ukrainian delegation has already departed from Kyiv, is en route," Vladimir Medinsky, the head of the Russian delegation, said Wednesday. "We’re expecting them tomorrow."

Unconfirmed death tolls have hundreds of Ukraine citizens and Russia soldiers killed in fighting and air attacks. A holocaust museum in a Ukraine city has reportedly been damaged, and a maternity ward was forced to move to an underground shelter as a result of air attacks. 

Mdeinsky also said the sides have agreed to meet in a region of Belarus that borders Poland, the wire service also reports, the wire service also reports.
