The European Union will delay retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods to April 13.

The tariffs were set to go into effect April 1, according to the EU Commission, CNN reported Thursday.

The countermeasure includes higher tariffs on whisky from the U.S.

The tariffs are in response to President Donald Trump's 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports earlier this month.
