The Atlanta Braves can clinch their first World Series since 1995 with a victory Tuesday night over the Astros in Game 6 of the Fall Classic in Houston.

The Astros forced Game 6 with a 9-5 victory Sunday night.

Game 7, if necessary, is scheduled for Wednesday night.

The Braves are starting Max Fried Tuesday night. The left-hander was the losing pitcher in Game 2, when the Astros tagged him for six earned runs in five innings of their 7-2 victory last Wednesday.

It marked the second straight poor outing by Fried this postseason. In an 11-2 rout by the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series on Oct. 21, the 27-year-old allowed five runs on eight hits, including two home runs.

The Astros are countering with Luis Garcia. The right-hander took the loss in Game 3 in Atlanta on Friday, lasting just 3.2 innings while allowing one run on three hits and four walks while striking out six.

Garcia, 24, will be pitching on three days’ rest. He is 1-2 with a 7.62 ERA in four appearances this postseason.

“We think that he’s the best for the job,’’ Astros manager Dusty Baker told the New York Post. “We realize that he has a short leash, but then everybody out there has a short leash and is operating on low rest or not full rest.”

Freddie Freeman has had a hit in every game of the World Series. The Braves All-Star first baseman is hitting .278 with a home run and three RBI in the Fall Classic.

Yuli Gurriel, who won this year's American League batting title when he hit .319, is batting .333 in the World Series with two RBI.
