A pro-Palestine charity funded by Facebook parent Meta has links to alleged terror organizations and had a woman who once said Israel was “the greatest beneficiary from the Holocaust” speak at their annual conference, claims a new report.

7amleh, or The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media, receives funding and works closely with Meta as a “trusted partner” with the goal of keeping harmful content off the platform. This also allows 7amleh a say in Facebook’s policies.

But pro-Israel think tank the Zachor Legal Institute alleges 7amleh has ties with alleged terrorist groups, even sharing staff with them, has lionized convicted terrorists, and had an alleged Holocaust denier at a guest speaker at its conference, reports the Daily Mail.

“A terror-supporting, terror-linked NGO, which is tasked with influencing Meta's algorithm, policies and community guidelines (and receives funding to that end), is actively trying to impact Meta in a way that negatively affects Jews,”

“7amleh has ties to Palestinian terrorist groups and has expressed support for terrorism, which makes its 'Trusted Partner' status with Meta all the more troubling.”

7amleh also sits on Twitter’s Trust and Safety Council, which has a similar function to Facebook’s “Trust Partner” system, notes the report.

The report claims that 7amleh has collaborated with Palestinian NGOs that Israel as designated as terrorist organizations, such as Al Haq, Addameer and the Health Work Committees.

It also found that multiple 7amleh employees on LinkedIn with work histories at designated terror groups, including one that is also listed as a current employee at Al Haq.

7amleh’s 2022 Palestinian Digital Activism Forum last month featured presentations from Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and journalist Muna Hawwa, who was suspended by Al Jazeera in 2019 over a segment where she claimed Jews exploited the Holocaust to create Israel.

Posted to Al Jazeera’s online AJ+ Arabic service, the video called Israel “the biggest winner from the Holocast,” suggested that Zionism was derived from Nazi ideology and called the number of real victims of the Holocaust “one of the most prominent historical debates to this day.”

A 7amleh spokesperson told the Daily Mail likened the Zachor report to the many “smear campaigns from extremist, far-right and anti-Palestinian organizations” that it faces and that it would continue to work toward a “fair, safe and just digital space” and promote the digital and human rights of Palestinians.

Meta reportedly did not respond to a request for comment.
