A surveillance video that went viral on social media this week showed the dramatic moment when a man ran to save a stroller with a baby that rolled towards a busy road in the city of Hesperia, California.

The clip shows a woman unloading items from the back seat of her parked SUV outside the A1 on Bear Valley Road around 3:00 p.m.

Then it shows a stroller with the baby inside beginning to roll towards the road. The woman tries to run after it, but falls to her knees and fails to get up.

A good Samaritan, identified as Ronald Nessman, was at the scene with his sister Donna Gunderson when they heard the screams and saw the baby stroller rolling down the street.

"I look back and see a stroller going down the road. My heart just dropped," said Gunderson.

At that moment, Nessman runs towards the stroller and manages to save the baby from traffic. Immediately, they help the woman get up from the ground.

"I knew I could save him, and I'm grateful for that. I wouldn't want to see the end result if I wasn't there," Nessman said.

The man was at the scene because he had just come out of a job interview at a nearby Applebee's. He has been living with his sister Donna for the past three months after being homeless for about eight years, in part due to a state of depression following the death of his girlfriend.

"If you want something different in your life, do something different. I appreciate my sister for helping me out. She's always been there for me," he added.

Witnesses said the woman was very grateful to Nessman, who now hopes that an employer sees this story and gives him a job opportunity.
