Ten people were hospitalized after falling from the U.S. southwest border wall near the Tijuana River Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Border Patrol agents and San Diego Fire and Rescue (SDFD) responded around 4:00 p.m. to the border wall after receiving calls of people suffering massive injuries.

Rescue teams that arrived at the scene found 10 people with various injuries, some of which had broken bones, SDFD Battalion Chief Oscar Rodríguez told NBC 7.

We had some children who were accompanied, so we transported them with their parents to trauma centers throughout the city, Rodríguez said.

No further details were immediately available.
