New Mexico police released on Thursday the shocking body camera footage of the pursuit of a gunman that killed three people and left six others wounded before being fatally shot by responding officers.

On Monday, 18-year-old Beau Wilson opened fire in his neighborhood of Farmington, shooting at random victims for more than a quarter-mile stretch until police arrived at the scene.

The body camera footage released shows Farmington Police Department officers responding to the call. In one scene, an officer can be seen walking down the street looking for the suspect, who was dressed in all black and was holding an automatic weapon.

"He just took off! The white house directly south of the church!" the officer can be heard saying in the footage. "More shots are being fired!"

"Let me see your hands!" the officer yells as multiple shots are fired until finally the officer yells "Subject is down! Subject is down! Cease fire! Cease fire!" The video then shows officers handcuffing the gunman.

"It is as I described, a very chaotic scene," Chief Steve Hebbe said. "It's emotional to watch it honestly, and I've seen it a bunch of times now and talked about it even more. It's still emotional to watch it."

Police also shared a second body camera footage taken from Sgt. Rachel Discenza, who was wounded during the shooting. The video shows her moving forward with other officers towards the gunfire when she suddenly falls to the ground.

"Ugh, I'm shot," she says. She attempts to get up but stumbles once more. "My legs I think," she adds.

Three women were killed during the shooting, Shirley Voita, 79, Melody Ivie, 73, and Gwendolyn Schofield, 97. Four others were injured and were treated at the San Juan Regional Medical Center. In addition to Discenza, a second officer from the New Mexico State Police was wounded.

At least 150 rounds were fired by both the gunman and the responding officers, according to Farmington Deputy Police Chief Baric Crum.

"The amount of violence and brutality that these people faced is unconscionable to me," Deputy Police Chief Kyle Dowdy said.
