A group of U.S. Army Reserve soldiers stationed in Puerto Rico were mobilized on Saturday to Poland to provide support to allies and NATO partners.

“We know that we will provide support for the military components located in Poland. Thank God our unit has maintained high levels of preparation of both the teams and the staff,” said Captain Jesus Lozada, commander of the 432 Transportation Unit.

The Transportation Unit 432, which consists of 150 individuals specializing in operating heavy military equipment, were activated a year ago for their mission to Poland. The mission is expected to last a year.

“This mobilization is not a result of recent events between Ukraine and Russia. You are going with a purpose and we are sure that you will carry the name of the command high,” said the commander of the U.S. Army Reserve in Puerto Rico, Colonel Carlos Caceres.

According to the First Sergeant of the unit, the mission will focus on providing transportation and assistance to NATO forces.
