Undocumented migrant, convicted killer escapes from Pennsylvania penitentiary

An undocumented migrant and convicted killer escaped from a Pennsylvania penitentiary on Thursday, according to various news reports. 

Danelo Cavalcante escaped the Chester County Prison at approximately 8:30 a.m. EST, according to a report from CNN

Cavalcante was prosecuted on murder charges and convicted on Aug. 16 for killing his ex-girlfriend in 2021 and was sentenced to life in prison. 

“Chester County Detectives and the Pennsylvania State Police are conducting a thorough county-wide search,” the District Attorney’s office in a press release.

U.S. Marshals, the agency tasked with hunting down escaped fugitives are offering a government sponsored reward of up to $5,000 to anyone who reports the escaped convict’s whereabouts.

U.S. Marshals said that Cavalcante is also wanted for murder in Brazil. It is unclear when the convicted killer first entered the United States, according to The Daily Wire.
